From Standard to Luxe

The house we worked on at Eatons Hill was a project home with standard ‘off-the-shelf’ bathrooms. Our client wanted bathrooms that were more unique, and had a touch of glamour.

We turned the standard bathroom to a modern luxe space by using high-end tiles, fixtures, and finishes at an affordable price. Our client loved how luxurious the bathrooms looked without the expensive price tag.

The first thing we did with the bathrooms was to remove the shower hobs and create a seamless floor. That way there’s no step going into the shower area. We increased both the bath size and storage space by installing mirrored shaving cabinets in all the bathrooms.

We used Mizu Drift tapware and towel rails in all the bathrooms for this project. Our skilled team made bespoke cabinetry for the vanities.

How to Turn Standard Bathrooms to Luxe for Less

Most kit bathrooms come with standard or generic looking bathrooms. The good news is that you can turn them into luxe bathrooms without breaking the bank. Below are ways to take a basic bathroom to the next level.

1. Add Warmth to the Bathroom

One way to make the room look more appealing is to feature wooden accents, such as a wooden bath tray or timber shutters. They add warmth to the room and at the same time make it look luxurious.

Luxurious bathrooms exude a fresh natural ambience using plants. Using white flowers in a beautiful pot can create a spa-like look, that is crisp and fresh.

3. Use Tufted Wool Rugs

Standard bathroom mats can bring down the look and feel of a bathroom. Replace them with plush rugs. Tufted wool rugs are soft and the ideal replacement for bath mats. The best thing about wool rugs is that they look better over time, and feel great under bare feet.

4. Change Lighting Fixtures

You should install drawer organisers with small compartments. That way you get rid of the clutter on your countertop by putting stuff away in drawers.

7. Use Neutral Colours

A standard bathroom can turn into an elegant one by installing neutral or white countertops and cabinets.
